Lion Sands, Wedding Venues, Weddings »
Our journey started at 05h15, destination Lion Sands. We arrived there at 11h30 and were welcomed at the gate by a beautiful black rhino, well not right at the gate luckily but a mere 50 meters away ; p Then a couple hundred meters up the dirt road we came upon 2 stubborn male giraffe who refused to give way for a good 5 minutes. It was great!!!
We were warmly welcomed by the fantastic staff at the lodge and then got straight to capturing the special moments of Catherine and Paul’s special day. Catherine looked stunning in her vintage styled wedding dress.
During the ceremony we were joined by a herd of elephants who were enjoying themselves at a nearby watering hole. A more beautiful setting one couldn’t wish for!
The creative shoot was even more exciting than usual as we were accompanied by a ranger and his R4 rifle. The reason being that there are a lot of hippos, lion and buffalo in the surrounding area. The light was fading fast but we managed to bang out some absolutely fabulous shots - here are some for you to enjoy…
P.S. Just wanted to mention that the 6 course meal was prepared to perfection and the accompanying wines were delicious…

Tsekama, Wedding Venues, Weddings »
Tanya and Bennet were married last year December just outside Nylstroom at a gorgeous venue called Tsekama. I must mention that the food was really fantastic (I admit to sneaking an extra slice of cake to eat in bed - they all looked good okay, so I couldn’t decide on which one not to have). Since their wedding we actually did a “trash the dress” session too, but that will have to wait for another day.
I would like to thank both Tanya and Bennet for having us at their wedding and treating us as part of the family and we wish you all the best in your new adventure together as husband and wife. I know you guys are going to make a killer team!

It’s been a busy week in the Studio, been editing photos, getting prints done and numerous trips to the Post Office. The reason for having to get it all done at top speed is because I’m off on holiday on Saturday : ) We’re going to Botswana for a couple of weeks, I haven’t been in the bush (well, other than for weddings that is) in years. That reminds me, I better get all my batteries charged and my lenses polished!
But before I set off for some R&R I wanted to post a few more images from Cas and Bronwynn’s wedding.

I love this pic of Bronwynn, it’s more of a rusty black and white.

I decided to post this image in black and white and colour. I love the strong contrast of the black and white, BUT, I love the vibrancy in the colour image too.
