Tanya and Bennet were married last year December just outside Nylstroom at a gorgeous venue called Tsekama. I must mention that the food was really fantastic (I admit to sneaking an extra slice of cake to eat in bed - they all looked good okay, so I couldn’t decide on which one not to have). Since their wedding we actually did a “trash the dress” session too, but that will have to wait for another day.
I would like to thank both Tanya and Bennet for having us at their wedding and treating us as part of the family and we wish you all the best in your new adventure together as husband and wife. I know you guys are going to make a killer team!

My valentine surprise was a ride on a hot-air balloon (my first time). This involved getting up at 3 a.m. so that we could get to Magaliesburg before sunrise.
Well, it was worth it!!!

Last week Leith and I decided to go check out the De Wildt Cheetah Research Centre in the North West Province. We booked the Tuesday tour as we wanted to see the Cheetah Run - which they do every Tuesday and Thursday. I must admit that I didn’t think we would be watching the cheetahs run without there being a fence between us. One of the rules is that you don’t crouch down when taking photographs as the cheetah may mistake you for the target (I thought that was a good rule). It really was incredible to see these beautiful creatures doing what they do so well. In one step they can cover between 2.5 - 3 meters. Here is a photo of one of their ambassador cheetahs captured mid-air in a high speed chase.
The De Wildt Farm also breeds another endangered animal of Africa - the Wild Dog. These animals have fantastic camouflage, in the photo below you can see what I mean …
Ok - so the ostrich may not be endangered but they are an African Classic …

The weather is very befitting of a Monday - cold, windy and overcast. I have to admit that I have been counting down the days to spring and then finally summer. The last summer holiday I had was in Italy - it was fantastic! Here are a couple photos from Florence…

It’s Sunday night and another week has gone by without me entering a blog so I thought I would share a few photographs from a wedding that I shot a while back. I loved the decor and the wedding cake looked far to good to eat.
