Lion Sands, Wedding Venues, Weddings »
Our journey started at 05h15, destination Lion Sands. We arrived there at 11h30 and were welcomed at the gate by a beautiful black rhino, well not right at the gate luckily but a mere 50 meters away ; p Then a couple hundred meters up the dirt road we came upon 2 stubborn male giraffe who refused to give way for a good 5 minutes. It was great!!!
We were warmly welcomed by the fantastic staff at the lodge and then got straight to capturing the special moments of Catherine and Paul’s special day. Catherine looked stunning in her vintage styled wedding dress.
During the ceremony we were joined by a herd of elephants who were enjoying themselves at a nearby watering hole. A more beautiful setting one couldn’t wish for!
The creative shoot was even more exciting than usual as we were accompanied by a ranger and his R4 rifle. The reason being that there are a lot of hippos, lion and buffalo in the surrounding area. The light was fading fast but we managed to bang out some absolutely fabulous shots - here are some for you to enjoy…
P.S. Just wanted to mention that the 6 course meal was prepared to perfection and the accompanying wines were delicious…

Grand Kruger Lodge, Wedding Venues, Weddings »
This past weekend we photographed a wedding at the Grand Kruger Lodge (a round trip of just over a 1 000Km’s). We left on the Friday morning and it rained pretty much the entire journey (yes, more rain).
However, on Saturday we woke up to beautiful blue skies with slim streaks of wispy white clouds which resulted in a beautiful backdrop for the creative shoot which took place later that afternoon (it didn’t rain but the humidity was at a staggering 87%).
Michelle and Aaron, who flew out from New Zealand to have their wedding in the bush, were very chilled-out and great to work with - real naturals in front of the camera (and I think it shows in the photos).
This shot was taken late that afternoon, just before the sun made its departure…

10 2nd Houghton Estate, Wedding Venues, Weddings »
I frequently get asked if I take black and white wedding photos. The answer to that question is a definite YES. I am a bit of a colour addict which is probably why I always post the colour photos on my blog. Though, I must say that nothing beats a classic black and white photo (I too love black and white for those of you who are wondering about that).
So today I am going to break away from the colour photos and instead post some killer black and white shots of Michelle getting ready.

Here are a few photos from Juli and Darren’s wedding that took place at The Moon and Sixpence on Friday. I was going through the wedding photos last night and thought I better post a few images from their wedding before the week is over (which happens so quickly). I got stunning wedding photos from the day but I haven’t posted any ceremony shots for a while so here are a few.
Juli and Darren - you guys looked gorgeous and I will post more images soon. Enjoy your honeymoon!

P.S. For those of you who don’t know, The Moon and Sixpence is a romantic wedding venue situated in the Muldersdrift area on “The Wedding Mile”. Worth checking out.
