Our journey started at 05h15, destination Lion Sands. We arrived there at 11h30 and were welcomed at the gate by a beautiful black rhino, well not right at the gate luckily but a mere 50 meters away ; p Then a couple hundred meters up the dirt road we came upon 2 stubborn male giraffe who refused to give way for a good 5 minutes. It was great!!!
We were warmly welcomed by the fantastic staff at the lodge and then got straight to capturing the special moments of Catherine and Paul’s special day. Catherine looked stunning in her vintage styled wedding dress.
During the ceremony we were joined by a herd of elephants who were enjoying themselves at a nearby watering hole. A more beautiful setting one couldn’t wish for!
The creative shoot was even more exciting than usual as we were accompanied by a ranger and his R4 rifle. The reason being that there are a lot of hippos, lion and buffalo in the surrounding area. The light was fading fast but we managed to bang out some absolutely fabulous shots - here are some for you to enjoy…
P.S. Just wanted to mention that the 6 course meal was prepared to perfection and the accompanying wines were delicious…

Let me start by saying WOW, WOW, and another WOW - what a fantastic wedding. Megan and Gareth were absolute rock stars to work with, total naturals in front of the camera, spontaneous, fun and willing to brave the rain for the creative shoot. It was well worth it as we got some absolutely stunning photos from the wedding!!! Megan and Gareth were married at St John’s in Johannesburg. I was quite blown away by the beauty of the building, which always proves difficult when it comes to deciding on where to take the creative shoots, as unfortunately there is always a limit on the time and therefore the amount of spots that we can use.
Megan’s Dad also happens to be the Principal of the College, so we got some great shots of Megan getting dressed in the Principals office (sorry, this just really amuses me). Will post images from the girls getting ready, the ceremony etc. at a later date.
ENJOY!!!

A couple of weeks ago we got to photograph our first Muslim wedding. We spent the afternoon with Afsana (the absolutely gorgeous bride) before we headed off to the Coca-Cola Dome for the reception (approximately 800 guests - my biggest wedding yet).
More images from the wedding day to be posted soon!

Well I have been bogged down with editing, weddings some more editing and … more weddings!!! I really don’t want to neglect my blog so I am going to be keeping the entries pretty short for a while but I will try to add images as often as possible. Yes, I am a couple of weddings behind : P

Here are a few photos from Alana and Eric’s very intimate wedding …

… well not that intimate, someone invited an elephant to the wedding ceremony : )

PLEASE NOTE: WILD LIONS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY!!!
(though I am not sure as to whether Alana and Eric would have noticed)

Note to self: next entry must contain some black and white wedding photos before I start getting hounded : )
